Unlocking potential and fostering growth in Mentoring for Purpose
— Join Us Now —Mentoring for Purpose is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to helping students discover their unique strengths and then working with them to develop those strengths, which builds confidence, self-esteem, and camaraderie. They are truly part of a team and accomplish success individually and collectively.
We believe that by providing people of all ages with the right support, resources, and opportunities, they can achieve great things and make a positive impact on the world.
Mentoring for Purpose was founded in 2024, but has been investing in both students and adults for 25 years. We started as a small group of adults truly interested in investing time and energy into young people to help them discover and develop their passion for writing, photography, digital marketing, social media, videography, web development, networking, graphic arts, sales and advertising, or administration.
Their community newspaper was the launching pad we used to help them discover their community, ask questions and become accomplished. With an organization of nurturing adults behind them, their growth was inevitable.
At Mentoring for Purpose, we start with assessment tools that reveal the student or the adult’s natural strengths and abilities. Then we work with them to develop those natural strengths. If they aren’t available within our organization, we will reach out into the community to find a willing mentor to help guide them and give them experience and training.
By nurturing their unique interests it also allows us time to invest in them as a person, to help them feel included, and see their value and inclusion in the community.
Not everyone is going to college. That is a big decision and we also help encourage those who may be on the path to a trade school or entrepreneurship. We also expose them to arts and culture, business and local civic/government life. Our programs provide young people with skills, knowledge, and experience that helps them to succeed in life.
Jacob became a breaking news journalist by listening to fire and CHP radio and chasing those stories. Not everyone is built for this kind of journalism. It takes someone who has a sense of adventure and courage and is bold, but also can operate within free speech laws, while being respectful to law enforcement.
